Much like the rules of the game from which I borrowed the title, the focus of Rock+Paper+Music changes depending on which subject wins the throw-down on a given day. Music, publishing, culture, art, human interest, politics, bad TV… life; certainly updates on what’s happening in my creative adventures.
Always sass and sensibility in equal doses.

I write articles, I take pictures, I sing and write songs; I occasionally act, and I’ve published three novels. I have followed these various Muses my entire life and am constantly reminded of what a demanding (but joyful) bunch they are!
In terms of verifiable accomplishments, my website offers a trove of everything you’d ever want to know about me, with the bonus of links and fun photos.
The life-story nutshell: after years of rock & roll (’80s, big hair, great bands, incredible music; best time EVER!), a film feature I co-wrote (To Cross the Rubicon) was produced by an indie company in Seattle. Starring J.D. Souther, Billy Burke, and featuring David Crosby (along with my co-writer, Patricia Royce, and I), it was a small success that had solid impact on my career’s forward motion. Shortly after, two other screenplays were awarded by the Hollywood Gateway Screenwriting Competition, another, The Theory of Almost Everything, was a Top Finalist in the 2012 Final Draft Big Break Screenwriting contest, with A Minor Rebellion awarded as a Top-35 finalist by Final Draft in 2014. More recently an updated version was honored as an “official screenplay selection” at the 2018 Beverly Hills International Film Festival.
Somewhere amidst all the cinematic activity, I got back to music (songwriting, recording, performing, session singing), leading to the fruition of a lifetime goal: cutting my own record, (Somewhere On the Way). It was a true labor-of love of which I remain ever-so-proud and still listen to today (longer road trips make for great sing-alongs)! You can find it at CDBaby.com and iTunes and I hope you will. While I continue working with indie songwriters on various projects (SoundCloud has the latest), I look forward to repeating the album exercise at some future point, while currently enjoying performances with my band, Sixth & Third whenever we can all get together.
My current life includes acting and singing whenever possible; curating and marketing my photography, my personal blog here at Rock+Paper+Music, and regular articles and op-eds for a variety of online sites and businesses (archives can be found at my page at Contently). I have also spent the last few years discovering the pleasure of longform prose:
My debut novel, After The Sucker Punch, and short story, “She Tumbled Down,” were 2014 publishing successes, with 2015 seeing the launch of my second novel, Hysterical Love. My third, a “sociopolitical love story” titled The Alchemy of Noise, was published in Spring 2019 by an indie press out of Berkeley, CA, called She Writes Press. The book is garnering tremendous response with both readers and media, and we’re looking ahead to various contests and other book outreach events in coming months.
